2nd Annual KS PBCC: Hosted By Big Brutus

2nd Annual KS PBCC: Hosted By Big Brutus

The 2nd Annual Polar Bear Camp Club (PBCC) event at Big Brutus was an unforgettable experience, filled with adventure, camaraderie, and some of the most extreme weather conditions we've ever faced. Despite the challenges, the weekend was a massive success, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.

Battling the Elements

We arrived early Friday morning to set up some new tents, eager to test out the Heimplanet air-frame tents. These tents set up in less than a minute—literally! This feature proved invaluable as the winds were relentless. With a constant 30-40mph wind and gusts reaching up to 60mph, most traditional tents struggled to stay anchored. The Heimplanet tents, however, held their ground and kept us protected, even through a bit of rain later in the evening.

The wind wasn't the only challenge. A massive dust storm covered a significant portion of the Midwest and Southern United States, adding another layer of intensity to the trip. Everything—gear, vehicles, and even ourselves—was coated in a fine layer of dust. It was a true test of endurance, but it made for an adventure we won’t soon forget.

Stunning Views & Big Brutus

Despite the harsh conditions, Big Brutus stood tall as an incredible backdrop to our weekend. The sunsets were absolutely breathtaking, painting the sky with vibrant hues of orange and pink. The sight of Big Brutus against these stunning landscapes made for some amazing photos and unforgettable memories.

The Poker Run & Saturday Night Fun

One of the highlights of the event was our Poker Run, which turned out to be a massive success. Everyone had an absolute blast participating, and the friendly competition made for some great stories around the campfire.

Saturday night brought even more excitement with an incredible live band. The energy was electric, and we couldn’t have asked for a better performance to cap off the weekend. Another major highlight was the auctioning of our custom cornhole boards, generously donated by the Owens Family. We truly appreciate their support and contribution to making this event special.

Gratitude & Looking Ahead

We couldn’t have pulled off this event without the help of so many amazing people. Huge thanks to Tyson Connell, Cody Nelson, Kris Henderson, DirtRoadDiscoveries, Desert Sandworm, and our biggest help, Blind Spot Adventures. Without these guys, our role in the event would not have gone nearly as smoothly.

Despite the extreme conditions, the 2nd Annual PBCC event was a fantastic success, and we’re already looking forward to next year. Thank you to everyone who came out, battled the elements, and made this event truly memorable. See you all at the next adventure!
